Job Description: 

Assumes responsibility for proper handling, cleaning, inspection, assembly, testing and wrapping instruments processed in the OR.

Ensures availability of instrument trays for daily procedures according to surgeon s preference. Assumes responsibility for providing technical assistance in the environment of the Operating Room and SPD. Assists in the delivery of quality patient care through utilization of technical skills. Performs technical duties relating to role of scrub person knowledgeably as required. Assists with education of SPD staff as relates to proper care of surgical instruments. Assists with departmental work and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate
• Completion of approved operating room technician training program and sterile processing department training,
