Job Overview:

Under the supervision of a Department of Food and Nutrition Services Supervisor or Manager, the Second Cook completes tasks as outlined in the job flow for daily position assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Knowledge of food production, service and sanitation  
• Prior cooking experience in a healthcare facility  

Preferred:

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent  
• 3 to 4 years of related work experience 

Scheduling Requirements

• Shift: Day
• Time: 7:00am—3:00pm
• Status: Full Time
• Hours: 40.00 hrs. 

• Position may require work every other weekend depending on department’s needs

Essential Functions:

• Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods: to include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Special/Catered Events.

• These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
