The Manager of Revenue Cycle is responsible for managing all facets of RWJPE's accounts receivable management, including charge entry, payment posting, customer service and follow-up in accordance with RWJPE protocol with an emphasis on maximizing patient satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides administrative support including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Provide direction to staff on resolving billing issues and prepare reports for management
  • Manages all accounts receivable functions, such as recordkeeping, follow through on overdue invoices and issuing refunds
  • Identify trends related to denials, coding and delinquent claims and communicate effectively with Assistant Director, Revenue Cycle for feedback to the practice
  • Ensures that patients and insurance companies are properly billed for all services, and that payments are received and processed in a timely manner
  • Review, reconcile and correct account records with the assistance of Account Receivable Specialists
  • Approve payment plans for patients
  • Maintains confidentiality and ensures compliance with HIPAA Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintains relationships with insurance companies

2. Other related responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and organize workload
  • Interview and hire staff for their department
  • Any other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  1. Associate's Degree in accounting, business administration or equivalent area of study, preferred; High School Diploma or GED required
  2. Minimum of five years of general accounting experience healthcare setting required; A/R experience and experience and excellent understanding of the revenue cycle process required;
  3. Minimum two years of experience in supervisory/management role
  4. Medicare, Medical Assistance, and insurance billing required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of healthcare management, including staffing and leading
  2. Ability to exercise sound decision-making
  3. Knowledge of current CMS regulations and Medicare guidelines
  4. Knowledge of medical coding beneficial but not required
  5. Strong oral and written skills to effectively communicate with all patients staff, managers and physicians
  6. Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  7. Attention to accuracy and detail
  8. Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook is required

Physical Demands:

  • Individuals must be able to meet established specific physical requirements of the job including sitting at a desk or meeting table, reaching, lifting, pulling, bending, stooping, twisting, standing and walking
