JOB SUMMARY:

The Dentist shall have a clinical practice in Dentistry or a related subspecialty. The Dentist shall participate in the Dentistry/OMS Residency Program, and assure educational excellence as manifested by trainee performance based on such metrics as board examination pass rates. The Dentist shall be responsible for the supervision of Dental House Staff in rendering Dentistry clinical services to all patients on the Dentistry/OMS Teaching Service. This includes in-patient and outpatient care in the hospital, ambulatory care sites and the Emergency Department. This may include:

  • Participation in teaching and/or morning rounds
  • Participation in ward/floor teaching
  • Conducting noon conferences
  • Conducting M&M conferences and Grand Rounds
  • Conducting didactic teaching
  • Supervision and assistance to Dental Residents for timely and accurate completion of their dental/medical records
  • Review of dental/medical records and provision of appropriate feedback to the residents responsible for their completion

The position will assist in the development and implementation of other Resident education activities. Provides billing information within 72 hours of service date concerning dental services provided to House Teaching patients. Documentation, attendance and attending performance must be consistent with the requirements under both HCFA and Residency Review Committee. Submits, on a monthly basis, appropriate documentation consistent with the RRC requirements of on-site participation in the Dentistry Residency Program. Assists Dental Residents in designing and conduction research and other scholarly activities. Assists in the development and implementation of other Resident educational activities. Aids the Program Director in preparation of documents or residency accreditation and other program reports and replies requested by ACGM-RRC, and the Office of Dental Education. The Dentist shall participate in all systems to monitor and enhance the quality of care provided by the department. The Dentist shall utilize the resources of the department in a manner consistent with the budget and the financial constraints, goals and objectives of the institution. The Dentist shall carry out his/her duties and perform his/her services in a manner consistent with the bylaws, policies, rules and regulations of the Corporation, Hospital and Hospital's Dental Staff. The Dentist shall participate in Hospital dental/ staff activities, staff meetings and hospital or staff committees as may reasonably by requested and as consistent with other duties. The Dentist shall maintain or supervise the maintenance of adequate and proper dental/medical records with respect to all professional services rendered by self and members of the support staff and shall assure compliance with all Corporation and Hospital rules and regulations regarding dental/medical records and treatment and medication orders. The Dentist shall comply with all applicable reporting statutes and regulations that may apply to the services rendered under this Agreement. Copies of any and all applicable reporting statutes and regulations to be compiled with, shall be provided to the Dentist by the Corporation when required for appropriate compliance. When the Dentist or members of the department are on clinical call, the Dentist shall assure reasonable efforts to respond by telephone within ten (10) minutes of receiving the call and, if applicable, use his best efforts to arrive physically at the appropriate facility or Hospital facility within thirty (30) minutes. When the Dentist is responsible for administrative call, reasonable efforts shall me made to respond in a timely manner. The Dentist shall comply with the procedures and rules issued by the Pharmacy for use, accounting and disposal of narcotics and anesthesia agents. The Dentist shall provide all necessary reports and assistance requested during any accreditation inspection or any state or federal licensure review or survey. The Dentist shall be required to participate in those managed care programs applicable to Hospital or Clinic patients where corresponding hospital agreements exist.

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate from an accredited DMD or DDS school.
  • Successful completion of an ADA accredited OMFS Residency Program.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • OMFS Board certified or Board eligible.
  • Possess or be qualified to obtain a New Jersey dental license.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be committed to the highest ethical and professional standard.

$176,800.00 minimum to $199,689.00 maximum Annual Salary. Salary will be based off the standard workweek hours (20 hours per week).
