- JOB SUMMARY
- Performs sleep studies for pediatric (>18 months old), adult, and geriatric patients. Demonstrates proper placement of leads and wires (10-20 setup). Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots all sleep equipment, as well as pulse oximetry, transcutaneous monitoring, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and CPAP/BIPAP devices during the acquisition of the sleep study. Titrates CPAP/BIPAP according to AASM guidelines. Scores sleep study according to AASM guidelines. Achieves Interscoring reliability > 85%. Completes all charges. Coordinates dictation, transcription, final report, archiving, filing, and mailing process for sleep studies. Maintains inventory control. Completes yearly CME requirements.
- Educational Skills Required (Degree(s), Certification(s), License, etc.)
- Graduate of sleep study program. Trainee license allowable provided the employee is directly supervised by a registered polysomnographer, otherwise muse be registered by BRPT, AASM, or NBRC and licensed by the state of NJ. Must have current BLS card by AHA.
- Work Experience Required
- Prefer at least one year experience, but will train.
