Trains, mentors and develops safety coaches throughout the organization to support journey to high reliability and the Safety Together initiative. This includes ongoing training, onboarding training for new safety coaches, reward and recognition, championing management involvement at the unit level, and leading by example. Conducts monthly meetings with the safety coaches to accommodate all shifts. Rounds regularly to support the safety coaches and coach them in real time. Administratively responsible for the safety coach program which includes scheduling, course preparation, and overall promotion of the safety coach program. Prepares a monthly progress report on the safety coach program and a regular safety coach newsletter or article. Collects data relevant to the safety coach program, analyzes and prepares reports for all levels of the organization. Uses data to drive performance improvement of the safety coach program. Supports the overall Safety Together initiative through preparing scripts for Rounding to Influence, participating in Daily Safety Huddle and taking notes when required, assisting to schedule on site visits with consultants, assisting with safety training for new employees, and other duties as assigned. As key member of the Safety leadership team, conducts self in a professional and collegial manner with effective use of the error prevention tools and recognizing staff for doing the same. Qualifications: BA or BS degree required, Master's preferred. Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred or will complete within 18 months of hire. 1-2 years experience in training groups, project management and data analysis. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and writing skills required. Intermediate expertise in Microsoft Office Suite required.
