Role Description
The Ambulatory Testing Manager is primarily responsible for the development and management of RWJBH s testing plan for ambulatory applications including unit testing, integrated system testing, procedure testing, volume testing, device testing, version or upgrade testing, report testing and conversion testing. The Ambulatory Testing Manager is also responsible for project management and test script development. The Ambulatory Testing Manager is overall responsible for the scope, specifications, schedule, and quality of the testing needed at each site for all ambulatory applications. During testing events, the Manager manages a variety of testing participants including Application Leads, Super Users, and technical staff.

Qualifications
Education
Preferred: Bachelor s degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business or related field
Minimum: Associate s degree or three (3) or more years of relevant work experience providing advanced application support
Work Experience:
Preferred: Five (5) years relevant experience in a health care setting
Preferred: Knowledge of outpatient departments workflows and processes
Minimum: Three (3) years relevant experience
Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum: Obtaining applicable certification will be an expectation of the role
Applicant is expected to maintain certification as current by completing New Version Training (NVT), as applicable

Responsibilities

The Ambulatory Testing Manager is primarily responsible for the development and management of the project plan and charter for testing ambulatory applications. In addition to the duties discussed in the Role Description, the Ambulatory Testing Manager is responsible for the following:

1) Testing Coordination
Developing the formal detailed test plan and test case design for end-users as per guidelines established by PMO
Establishing, documenting and managing overall testing methodology, tools and templates
Reviewing and evaluating requirement and design documents for impact on overall testing timelines and resources
Overseeing the integrity of test plans, data, and environment
Leading the process of documenting the sufficiency of test scenarios
Coordinating with the application teams and the Testing Environment Analyst to ensure that proper resources are in place for adequate and efficient testing
Developing contingency testing plans
Assessing progress of testing after activation and adjusting for subsequent testing and go-lives as necessary
Coordinating testing with training, go-live planning, and go-live events


2) Project Management
Coordinating overall testing program including definition of goals, objectives, approach and testing methodologies
Tracking the progress of test scenarios by ambulatory application throughout the testing process
Developing, facilitating and monitoring effective End User Testing program including the identification of roles required to be part of the testing cycle
Reporting testing status to Implementation Team
Managing the testing and defect issue log and proposing mitigation solutions; Monitoring timely resolutions to identified issues on the log
Liaising with business and clinical community to ensure changes are understood, test cases and scripts are fully defined, and test activities are coordinated
Coordinating with Acute Testing Manager to align testing environments and testing facilities
Managing the Ambulatory Testing Analysts day-to-do operations
