RWJ New Brunswick is looking for a Development Officer to support, plan and implement strategies to grow fundraising efforts primarily through qualification, cultivation, and solicitation of individual donors, with emphasis on major gifts. The Development Officer will play an integral role in refining and executing a formal moves management program to support general operations and targeted program initiatives via excellent donor stewardship and donor relations.

Working with the Director of Development and Development Coordinator, the Development Officer will:

  • Develop a library of templates and content for the purposes of donor stewardship;
  • Develop and manage processes for targeted donor stewardship;
  • Oversee strategy and implementation of donor recognition efforts, including but not limited to naming opportunities and other creative donor recognition opportunities;
  • Create board and donor communications including but not limited to annual reports, endowment reports, and impact reports;
  • Manage active portfolio of 10 plus donors at any given time along with reporting and engagement oversight for donors in Extended Stewardship;
  • Work with Director of Development on LYBUNT and other targeted outreach to enhance pipeline building;
  • Qualify donors and advance them to MGO or VP portfolios as appropriate; and
  • Responsible for strategic planning and execution for stewardship events.

Typical stewardship events to include but may not be limited to ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, and donor tours.

Qualified applicants will have at least three years of experience in healthcare or university development, donor or alumni relations with two years experience as a relationship builder and relationship manager.

Marketing background is a plus.

Proven track-record of strong writing.

Integrity, creativity, energy, and independence; a collegial, understanding work style that values team members and institutional partners; ability to navigate complex organization; excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal relationship skills; sense of humor and perspective.

Strong Computer Skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Donor Management System such as Raiser's Edge-NXT, Constant Contact and additional Web-Based Platforms,

Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends occasionally, as well as attend events.
