RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand basic principle of insurance coverages
  • Obtain insurance information and demographic information as needed
  • Corresponds with insurances and collaborates with physicians in a professional and timely manner to provide any additional information required to approve the authorization
  • Maintains authorization log, assures it is accurate and kept up to date daily
  • Provide support to the front desk area when needed
  • Responds to written and telephone inquiries from patient, physician offices, insurance companies
  • Informs other staff of pertinent information
  • Responds professionally and pleasantly to telephone messages
  • Obtains adequate/accurate information and delegate s information appropriately
  • Maintains professional and timely communication with physicians, mid-level providers, patients, hospitals and insurance companies
  • Maintains patient confidentiality, complies with HIPPA guidelines as established by the practice
  • Works with the Practice Manager to ensure safe and professional patient care
  • This Scheduler position for BPC/AHC is to schedule appointments, answer phone calls, call patients, enter messages into our EMR, coordinate with the providers, support clinical and clerical staff to meet the needs of our patients. Other duties as assigned.

  • Provides cross-coverage as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have significant knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, practice management software, PowerPoint, as well as web and web-based software,
  • Ability to perform multiple and diverse tasks simultaneously required,
  • Working knowledge of managed care basics, and experience working with a managed care and Medicare population
  • One year of experience working in a physician group practice,
  • Prior Registration and authorization knowledge required
