As a Pediatric Rehabilitation RN, Long Term Care, you'll combine clinical expertise with family-centered care to support children throughout their rehabilitation journey. Working alongside physicians, therapists, nursing professionals, and an interdisciplinary care team, you'll help promote recovery, maximize independence, and support meaningful progress for each patient. As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

  • Performing comprehensive nursing assessments and utilizing the nursing process to identify the individualized healthcare needs of pediatric patients and their families
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating pediatric rehabilitation plans of care based on each child's medical, developmental, and functional needs
  • Delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing care while monitoring patient progress and recognizing changes that require timely clinical intervention
  • Collaborating with physicians, therapists, nursing professionals, and other interdisciplinary team members to promote continuity of care and achievement of rehabilitation goals
  • Providing individualized education to patients and families to help them understand care plans, treatments, rehabilitation goals, and ongoing healthcare needs
  • Delegating appropriate responsibilities to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and nursing assistants based on patient needs, staff competencies, and established standards of practice
  • Serving as a clinical resource and role model for LPNs, nurse externs, nursing assistants, nursing students, and newly hired team members
  • Promoting a safe, respectful, and family-centered environment that recognizes the cultural, religious, developmental, and individual needs of each patient and family
  • Communicating changes in patient condition, clinical concerns, and care needs to nursing leadership and appropriate members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Assuming relief Charge Nurse responsibilities as needed while demonstrating sound clinical judgment, effective problem-solving, and professional accountability

To be considered for this Registered Nurse opportunity, you must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider certification is required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required for inpatient nursing and, if not held at the time of hire, must be obtained within one year. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred, along with previous pediatric and/or rehabilitation nursing experience. For per diem opportunities, a minimum of one year of pediatric nursing experience is required. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal, collaboration, clinical assessment, and problem-solving skills, along with a commitment to delivering compassionate, family-centered pediatric rehabilitation care.
