Setting the Stage:
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for assisting the department in performing skilled preventative maintenance, repair, outfitting and servicing of a variety of company automobiles, The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for assisting the Fleet Manager to perform skilled trucks, ambulances and equipment is completed.

- Responsible for maintenance of required certifications in accordance with Mobile Health policies and all applicable State and Federal statutes and regulations.
- Attends quarterly in - service to maintain EMS competencies and receive policy and procedure additions and/or updates.
- Responsible for baseline and continuing knowledge of Mobile Health policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal statutes and regulations
- Interacts professionally with management, colleagues from other EMS agencies, public safety personnel and other healthcare providers and members of the public.
- Takes appropriate measures to work within established budgets.
- Responsible for completing repairs, adjustments and preventative maintenance service and checks on ambulances and other Mobile Health vehicles in accordance with prescribed PM policies and procedures.
- Utilizes OEM diagnostic software to troubleshoot issues happening with the vehicle to identify the issue.
- Repairs and maintains ambulance-specific systems including Stryker PowerLOAD systems, powered stretchers, emergency lighting, sirens, inverters, shoreline charging systems, HVAC, oxygen systems, battery systems, and warning devices.
- Utilizes Fleetio as the primary fleet maintenance management system for documenting inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, labor hours, parts usage, vendor repairs, and complete vehicle service history.
- Reviews assigned Fleetio work orders daily, prioritizes repairs based on operational needs, and ensures all assigned work orders are completed, documented, updated, and closed within established timeframes.
- Maintains complete and accurate repair documentation including diagnostic findings, corrective actions, labor hours, parts replaced, warranty information, and recommendations for future repairs.
- Ensures all preventive maintenance inspections, repair records, and required documentation are entered into Fleetio before a vehicle is returned to service.
- Conducts post-repair quality inspections and road tests prior to releasing vehicles back into service.
- Maintains a safe work environment in accordance with OSHA requirements, PPE standards, hazardous waste regulations, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Supports NJDOH inspections, audits, licensing requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Operates Mobile Health vehicles safely and professionally, in compliance with all laws and rules governing same, and Mobile Health standards for emergency vehicle operations policy.
- Responsible for the accurate documentation of all services and repairs. Responsible for alerting the Fleet Manager of any suspected or confirmed abuse of company vehicles/equipment.
- Responsible for determining if reported failures are the result of improper operations by crew members, material defects, normal wear or other causes.
- Responds to roadside calls as needed.
- Maintains a thorough working knowledge of Corporate Policies & Procedures and Departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
- Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.

To Be Considered:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- ASE Certification required, must possess minimum certifications of A-4 and A-5 at time of employmen
Preferred:
- 3- 5 years of verifiable experience as a mechanic
