The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

The Practice Specialist supports the successful onboarding, transition, and optimization of ambulatory practices across RWJBarnabas Health. This includes practice acquisitions, location changes, mergers, expansions, Epic onboarding, data conversion assessments, and ambulatory workflow optimization.

Working closely with practice leadership, operational stakeholders, and Epic teams, the Practice Specialist coordinates pre and post go-live activities, supports Epic Build Requests, reinforces standardized workflows, and identifies opportunities to improve practice operations and the overall user experience.

As a Practice Specialist, a typical day may include:

• Supporting ambulatory practice acquisitions, onboarding, location changes, mergers, and expansions

• Conducting initial practice assessments and gathering operational and system data

• Coordinating acquisition and onboarding activities, including data conversion assessments and Epic Build Requests

• Serving as a liaison between Epic build teams, practice resources, project teams, and operational stakeholders

• Supporting pre-go-live, go-live, and post-go-live activities for ambulatory practices

• Evaluating current-state workflows and helping practices transition to standardized future-state processes

• Providing hands-on support and workflow reinforcement for practice staff and providers

• Supporting Epic workflows, applications, and newly implemented functionality

• Identifying and recommending process improvements that increase efficiency, standardization, and practice performance

• Participating in practice leadership meetings, project workgroups, acquisition planning meetings, and EpicTogether meetings

• Tracking project activities, issues, risks, and resolutions through completion

• Connecting practice resources with appropriate Epic education and training opportunities

• You have experience supporting an EHR or Epic in a healthcare environment

• You can work directly with providers, practice staff, operational leaders, and technical teams

• You are comfortable managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines

• You enjoy helping teams adopt standardized workflows and get more from their technology

To Be Considered for the Practice Specialist position, you must have:

• Associate’s degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience

• 1 to 2 years of relevant experience working in a healthcare setting

• Knowledge of healthcare operations and workflows

• Ability to support practice onboarding, operational projects, workflow assessments, and process improvement initiatives

• Strong project coordination, organization, and prioritization skills

• Ability to independently manage routine assignments and multiple competing priorities

• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience

• 1 to 2 years of experience with EHR system implementations and practice acquisitions

• Experience working in an ambulatory, medical group, or physician office setting

• Epic application and workflow experience

• Experience supporting Epic implementations, go-lives, or practice onboarding

• Experience with healthcare workflow optimization and standardization

• Experience coordinating projects across operational and technical teams

• Experience evaluating data and workflows to identify process improvement opportunities
