Job Overview:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing clinical nursing expertise to bedside staff to promote an environment of safe and effective care for all patients. The individual in this position will provide complex wound care, perform palliative care assessments, and lead nursing teams to promote safe and evidence-based patient care. The main specialties supported will include Med/Surg and Oncology.

As a Medical/Surgical Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will:  

  • Responsible for providing clinical nursing expertise to bedside staff to promote an environment of safe and effective care for all patients

  • Provide complex wound care

  • Perform palliative care assessments

  • Lead nursing teams to promote safe and evidence-based patient care

  • Perform all the competencies of the position

To be considered for this Nursing Supervisor opportunity, you must have three (3) to five (5) years of experience of acute care nursing. You must also hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing, an MSN degree from an accredited School of Nursing required, and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Med/Surg, Oncology, comparable specialty experience, and leadership experience is strongly preferred. Current Advanced Practice (APRN), Clinical Nursing Specialist (CNS), and/or National Certification in a specialty area is preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a 11pm-7am per diem schedule — at least two shifts per 4-week schedule; one major summer and one major winter holiday.
