Working closely with the Director of Patient Care, you'll oversee daily infusion center operations, guide nursing practice, optimize patient flow, and strengthen quality and safety initiatives. This opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact on patients navigating cancer treatment while empowering nursing teams and contributing to the continued success of outpatient oncology services.

As a Nurse Manager, a typical day may include:

  • Providing clinical leadership, guidance, and ongoing support to registered nurses and infusion center staff

  • Overseeing safe administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic therapies, blood products, IV hydration, and other supportive oncology treatments

  • Coordinating staffing, scheduling, patient assignments, and workload distribution based on patient acuity, treatment needs, and operational priorities

  • Monitoring patient flow, infusion chair utilization, treatment volumes, wait times, and potential delays to identify opportunities for improved efficiency

  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing nursing staff through orientation, competency validation, performance feedback, and continuing education

  • Collaborating with oncologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacy, laboratory, scheduling, research, navigation, and other interdisciplinary partners to coordinate patient care

  • Promoting adherence to nursing standards, organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and established oncology safety protocols

  • Identifying opportunities for quality improvement and implementing initiatives that strengthen patient safety, clinical outcomes, and operational performance

  • Supporting a positive work environment through effective communication, staff engagement, professional development, and collaborative problem-solving

  • Addressing clinical and operational concerns while helping resolve barriers that may affect treatment delivery, patient experience, or departmental workflow

  • Serving as a clinical and operational resource in the absence of the Director of Patient Care to support continuity of leadership and departmental operations

This role might be for you if:

  • You are an experienced nursing professional who enjoys combining clinical expertise with leadership, mentorship, and operational management

  • You have a strong understanding of oncology nursing practices and the unique needs of patients receiving infusion-based cancer treatments

  • You are comfortable supporting the safe administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic therapies, and other specialized infusion treatments

  • You enjoy leading nursing teams, developing staff competencies, and creating an environment that encourages professional growth

  • You understand the importance of effective staffing, patient assignments, workload management, and maintaining efficient patient flow

  • You are confident analyzing operational trends, identifying workflow challenges, and implementing practical improvements

  • You enjoy collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals

  • You bring strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to complex clinical and operational situations

  • You value patient safety, regulatory compliance, evidence-based nursing practice, and continuous quality improvement

  • You are organized, adaptable, and comfortable balancing competing priorities in a busy outpatient oncology environment

  • You lead with compassion, accountability, and professionalism while supporting both patient needs and staff well-being

  • You are motivated by opportunities to strengthen nursing practice, improve patient experiences, and contribute to the strategic goals of oncology services

To be considered for this Nurse Manager opportunity, you must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), possess a current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license, and maintain BLS certification.
