As an Oncology Coordinator you will lead compliance and healthcare quality initiatives. In this role, you will hold primary cancer registry oversight, ensuring all oncology metrics, patient histories, and clinical data points are meticulously tracked and coded. You will play a vital role in our alignment with state requirements and national standards

As an Oncology Coordinator, a typical day might include:

  • Ensuring quality and timeliness of case finding, abstraction, and follow-up functions according to departmental procedures and regulatory cancer case reporting guidelines
  • Educating and training staff and case abstraction to support timely submission
  • Assisting with cancer program accreditation and monitoring of compliance to accreditation standards
  • Ensuring physicians receive accurate and timely data and/or reports
  • Overseeing the reporting of all appropriate cancer cases to state and federal agencies to ensure proper reporting as required
  • Reviewing patient health records to record pertinent patient and tumor-related information as required by the state and federal regulations

This role might be for you if:

  • You are a detail enthusiast: You thrive on hunting down small details inside massive electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure total documentation accuracy
  • You enjoy working independently but collaboratively: You appreciate quiet focus time for heavy data entry, but you can smoothly transition into hosting presentation meetings with prominent oncologists and clinical leaders
  • You want a real-world impact: You understand that clean data is exactly how medical researchers uncover hidden patterns to improve cancer survival rates globally

. To be considered for this position, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Certification: Must hold an active certification as a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR), also known as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS). Candidates without this current credential from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) will not be advanced
  • Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Core Competencies: Extensive, demonstrated command of medical terminology

This schedule for this role is Monday-Friday and will be predominately on-site with the possibility of working remotely in a limited capacity.
