Cogito Analytics Suite delivers actionable clinical and business intelligence across all Epic applications, based on the user s role and workflow. Configurable dashboards and flexible reporting tools allow organizations to manage patient populations, analyze and benchmark clinical and operational performance, and monitor improvements for key areas of focus. Application also includes Clarity, Radar, and Cosmos.

Role Description
The Business Intelligence Analysts/Report Writers are primarily responsible for supporting the Cogito Manager in the necessary data analytics and reporting requirements across the applications. The Business Analyst(s) are responsible for developing the workbench reports and analytical reports.

Essential Functions:
The Business Intelligence Analyst/Report Writer is primarily responsible for supporting the Cogito Manager in the necessary data analytics and reporting requirements across the applications. Business Intelligence Analyst/Report Writer to provide hands-on expertise in creating clinical and revenue cycle reports. In addition to the duties discussed in the Role Description, the Business Intelligence Analyst/Report Writer is responsible for the following:

1) Technical Expertise:

  • Identifying all consumers of data and reports for both the legacy applications being replaced by Epic, and for any new functionality being introduced by Epic
  • Identifying and documenting all current state reporting inventories including hard copy paper reports, electronic reports sent via email, and large data extracts sent both internally and external
  • Providing analytics expertise and experience to the development of future state analytics requirements
  • Completing the analysis of Reporting Current State against gap analysis of Reporting Future State with Epic
  • Providing input to the build and configuration teams as needed to support the data analytics and reporting efforts
  • Supporting the performance of unit, system and integrated testing task for data analytics and reporting
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing SQL queries and stored procedures for Clarity/Caboodle databases to create clinical and revenue cycle reports.
  • Experience with reporting tools, including Epic Reporting Workbench reports, data extracts, RW SQL , SlicerDicer, and Radar SQL metrics.
  • Coordinating with Testing Manager and Application Coordinators to test and validate all reports and data extracts created
  • Experience utilizing Clarity and Caboodle databases as datasource for reporting.
  • Perform root cause analysis for ETL job failures, complex data warehouse integration issues, and multi-layered analytic solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with relational database concepts, query tools like SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), writing complex SQL queries, creating Tables, views, and stored procedures.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving using creative methods, and working on a collaborative and cross-functional team
  • SSIS extract experience
  • Developing of the workbench reports and analytic reports


2) Overall Project Support:

  • Supporting all project team members with analytics and reporting
  • Primary resource dedicated to designing, building, and testing all analytics and reporting tools across the Epic implementation
  • Providing information to the training team regarding the functionality/content of new reports for inclusion in application specific training curriculums and materials
  • Supporting the logging, tracking, and resolution of issues
  • Coordinating with application teams to ensure updated reporting
  • Escalating identified issues and potential mitigation plans to the Cogito Manager


3) Documentation Support

  • Developing, supporting, and maintaining documentation as needed
  • Contributing to the preparation of testing scripts and materials

Qualifications:
Education

  • Preferred: Bachelor s degree in Health Care, Information Technology, Business or relevant field
  • Minimum: Associate s degree or three (3) years of relevant work experience
  • Must be Epic Certified in Clarity or Caboodle data models.

Work Experience:

  • Preferred: Three (3) years relevant experience in large-scale project management, One (1) year experience in Lab reports and Care Management reports
  • Minimum: One (1) year relevant experience in large-scale project management
  • Experience with analytical tools, visualization tools, scripting tools, and processes
