Job Overview:

Business Intelligence (BI) tools improve productivity and enable our enterprise to make better business decisions each day through the collection and processing of both structured and unstructured data. Configurable dashboards, data visualizations, reports, and metrics allow organizations to manage patient populations, analyze and benchmark clinical and operational performance, and monitor improvements for key areas of focus. BI tools such as Tableau are expected to connect and cross pollinate data from applications including Epic Systems, Microsoft SQL databases, Oracle Databases, and cloud-based solutions such as AWS, and Snowflake.

The Business Intelligence Developer, Data Visualization is primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of data visualizations, reports, dashboards, and metrics across applications.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience in analytics, statistics, data visualization, SQL, and/or cloud based technology with the purpose of mining and manipulating large data sets.
  • Strong proficiency in data visualization tools with a preference for Tableau experience.
  • Experience with published/shared data sources supporting multiple reports/dashboards.
  • Bachelor s degree in related field or equivalent work experience

Preferred:

  • Education Preferred: Healthcare, Information Systems, Analytics, or related field.

Certifications and Licenses:

Required

  • Required: Epic Cogito, Clarity, and Caboodle fundamentals certification within three (3) months of employment.

Preferred

  • Current Epic Cogito, Clarity, and Caboodle fundamentals certifications.

Essential Functions:

Strategic Development & Design

  • Design, develop, and implement interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau software.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with key process stakeholders, including nurses, physicians, and other clinical/administrative staff to understand data requirements and translate them into visualizations.
  • Analyze complex datasets to derive insights and present findings in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Maintain and update existing Tableau dashboards to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Ongoing support of owned content, troubleshooting reported issues and collaborating with technical teams to develop solutions.

Project Management:

  • Communicate project status updates with business users and technical teams.
  • Present content updates, facilitating validation with the business to ensure development meets design requirements.
  • Participate in change control reviews and change approvals for owned content.
  • Serve as liaison between end-users' workflow needs, technical teams, and leadership for new and existing content.

Data Governance & Strategy:

  • Document defined metrics and curate metric definitions across content.
  • Coordinate and assist with the creation of a dynamic reporting inventory.
  • Working with Information Technical teams to validate the technical infrastructure for Business Intelligence and Data and Analytics.
