Prepares and educates patients on telemetry transmitter, telemetry monitoring and electrocardiograms. Uses and understands the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and provides age specific treatment and care. Assists new employees in the policy and procedures of the department. Supports the philosophy, objectives, mission and vision of Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus. High school graduate or equivalent. Telemetry and/or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia course preferred. BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.Successful completion of all Orientation Programs Special Equipment/Skills:Good analytical skills to identify cardiac rhythms and artifact. Manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity necessary to monitor patients on telemetry. Ability to perform 12 lead EKG and appropriate lead placement for monitoring purposes. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with patient, families and ancillary personnel. Positive attitude, good hospitality traits and abides with the hospital dress code. Participates in departmental in-service programs to remain current with department policies and procedures and operational changes. Willingness to take and follow directions. Commitment to punctuality and regular attendance.
