Job Overview:

The Cardiac Cath Aide/Assistant supports the department leadership, Registered Nurse (RN), and technician population of the Cardiac Cath Lab.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of one (1) year hospital experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Patient Transport or Sterile Processing strongly preferred.
  • Will consider nursing students and CCT's

Essential Functions:

  • The Cardiac Cath Aide/Assistant functions under the direction of the department Director and Manager.
  • The Cardiac Cath Aide/Assistant supports the department leadership, Registered Nurse (RN), and technician population of the Cardiac Cath Lab.
  • Primary responsibilities involve supportive and technical assistance associated with the overall course of diagnostic and interventional procedures, which can include preparing rooms and items for procedures, assisting with transportation of patients within the department, monitoring inventory, and stocking procedural areas and rooms.
  • Works closely with Central Sterile, Laboratory, Patient Transport, and Pharmacy departments to support hospital resources and patient care as appropriate.
