Job Overview:
The Radiology Technologist/Invasive Specialist assists in the delivery of care to the patient undergoing cardiac catheterization, ensuring optimum patient outcomes while achieving patient and family satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology
- Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
- 1 year minimum Cath Lab experience (scrub and hemodynamic monitoring)
- Certification of completion of basic EKG and dysrhythmia course within the first month
Preferred:
- Additional certifications + RCIS or RCVT certifications
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Scheduling Requirements:
- Monday-Friday
- Full-time (FT)
Essential Functions:
- Assists physicians during the performance of the diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Catheterization Lab
- Administers individualized, professional patient care through efficient knowledge and safe practice of ICVL lab procedures
- Assumes responsibility of the radiologic QCs and fluoroscopy safety standard and other equipment used in the lab
- Assumes responsibility for patient preparation, care, and monitoring before, during and after procedures
- scrub with the physician, monitor and document the case or criteria, and/or circulate in the room within his/her scope of practice.
- Radiology Technologist/ Invasive Specialist will perform other duties to contribute to the daily functioning of the unit and represent the Cath Lab in meetings and/or committees.
- Participates in periodic education/training
- Participates in quality improvement programs, inventory control, daily charges
- Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care
- Comply with the Corporate Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, and other corporate compliance policies
