Job Overview:

This role performs the duties of a Speech Language Pathologist, coordinates the daily activities of the Speech Language Pathology Department, and assists the director to interview, select, train, evaluate and develop employees.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master s degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited college or university
  • At least one year of acute care experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • Licensed by the State of New Jersey

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shift working-flexible, 8-4:30pm or 8:30-5pm; or Monday and Wednesday 12-6:30pm; Tuesday and Thursday 8-6:30pm and Friday 8-4pm
  • Monday-Friday
  • FT

Essential Functions:

  • Perform the duties of a speech language pathologist
  • Coordinate the daily activities of the Speech Language Pathology Department
  • Recommend and initiate orders for material, equipment and services
  • Maintain or provide for the maintenance of records and reports as to the quality, quantity and timeliness of work done in the department
  • Periodically review service performance and recommend actions or changes to director
  • Maintain knowledge of current laws and standards of practice as relates to Speech Language Pathology
  • Serve as a resource to other departments for the specialty.
  • Perform as the Speech Language Pathology Center Coordinator for Clinical Education
  • Work with the Department Coordinator for Clinical Education to coordinate all clinical, in-service and continuing education within the department to ensure consistency of standards
  • Contribute to hospital and community education within scope of knowledge
  • Assist the director to interview, select, train, evaluate and develop employees
  • Initiate or contribute to the revision of policies and procedures, forms and documentation tools for Speech Language Pathology
  • Schedule and direct the activities of staff and volunteers
