JOB SUMMARY:

Assists nurse manager with ensuring that quality nurse care is delivered to all patients and his/her units in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures and program plans of the hospital. Develops and sustains an environment that supports compassionate care, healthcare excellence and superior service. Assists with development of patient care standards and continuing education. Assists in performance evaluation of staff, and in scheduling and staffing to meet department needs. Assists in the direction, coordination and development of performance improvement, patient safety and patient experience outcomes. Assures the ED is always in a state of survey readiness and meets compliance with all environmental/equipment requirements. Serves as liaison between Materials management and Emergency Department. Insures the prompt placement of purchase orders and executes follow up to assure prompt delivery of materials and/or effective performance of services. Makes daily rounds to insure smooth functioning and throughput of patients in the ED. Intervenes with all ancillary and support services to provide quality patient care.

EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in New Jersey.
  • Maintenance of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BCLS), Pediatric (PALS) certification. CEN within 6 months of hire date & TNCC within 12 months of hire date.
  • Masters preferred.
  • Successful completion of all Orientation
