Job Overview:

The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing optimal nutrition services as an integral part of the healthcare system and within the local community. The Registered Dietitian will strive for continuous improvement of services and customer satisfaction as well as professional growth.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • B.S. or advanced degree with major studies in Foods and Nutrition or Dietetics
  • Professional Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • BLS through the American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift
  • Per Diem
  • Scheduling may vary based on the needs of the department

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates daily patient care assignments to ensure patients receive timely and appropriate nutrition care effectively
  • Consistently conducts meal rounds on assigned floors to assess patient satisfaction
  • Effectively communicates patient needs with the diet office and follows through to ensure the request has been implemented
  • Maintains pertinent patient data necessary to recommend or modify therapeutic diets as needed to meet the nutritional and safety needs of patients
  • Helps plan and implement nutrition projects for the community through services such as speaking engagements, health fairs and classes
  • Reviews medical records, assesses patient needs and implements appropriate careplans to provide optimal care in a timely manner according to the departmental policy
  • Collaborates with physicians, nursing and ancillary services to plan and implement patient care as necessary in meeting the nutritional needs of the patients. Attends patient care conferences
  • Performs other duties as assigned
