Job Overview:

The Endoscopy Technician is a caregiver who assists the Endoscopy team during endoscopy procedures and assists in the preparation of the suite area between cases.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school graduate or equivalent,
• Additional experience required based upon specific department needs,
• Hazards include risk of exposure to communicable disease and risk of physical injury from lifting patients and operation of equipment,

Preferred:

Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Essential Functions:

• The Endoscopy Technician is a caregiver who assists the Endoscopy team during endoscopy procedures and assists in the preparation of the suite area between cases
• The Endoscopy Tech understands the principles of asepsis and basic instrumentation
• He/she works under the direct supervision of the RN
