Environmental Service Worker

Job Overview:

Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Department the Enviromnetal Service Worker cleans and supplies patient rooms, nursing stations, ancillary areas, and other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with the Medical Center objectives.

Qualifications:

Required:

• GED or High School Diploma required
• Successful completion of general and department specific orientation

Preferred:

• Hospital housekeeping preferred

Scheduling Requirements

• Day, 7:00a.m. 3:00pm
• 5 days a week
• Full Time 40.00 hrs.
• Position may require to work every other weekend and holidays depending on department s needs

Essential Functions:

• Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs
• Assists in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request
• Cleans housekeeping closet and maintains par levels
• Collects and transport all waste, including RMW, according to policy
• Compacts Trash or places in containers
• Damp buffs and shampoo carpets with approved equipment
• Dry and wet mops floors of rooms and offices
• Dust mops and wet mops corridor, stairwells and other common areas
• Empties waste receptacles and removes trash
• Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and has repairs made when needed
• Observes and reports the need to repair equipment, furniture, building and fixtures
• Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods
• Performs patient discharge cleaning using 9-step cleaning procedure
• Refills paper towels, toilet paper, soap and toilet seat dispensers
• Returns promptly from errands, breaks, meals
• Scrubs and burnishes floors with approved equipment
• Transport bulk trash from designated collection points to compactor area
• Uses and prepares solutions according to procedure
• Vacuums carpets

Pay Range $17.00 to $18.00 Hourly Rate
