Job Overview:

The Lead Technologist of the Cat Scan department is responsible for assisting the supervisor in the day to day operation of the department. Manages the Quality Control Program for the department. Functions as a Cat Scan Technician and completes all job requirements for the staff-level position.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required,
  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiography Education,
  • Must have ARRT CT Certification and State of New Jersey License,
  • CPR certified or willing to obtain within six months of hire via American Heart Association,

Preferred:

  • 3-5 years hospital experience as a lead/chief technologist preferred,
  • Siemens experience preferred,

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare daily work and call schedules.
  • Order required supplies and maintains par levels in CT suites.
  • Schedule daily, weekly and monthly quality control procedures for all CT equipment and checks for timely completion.
  • Function as primary teaching technologist to the students.
  • Maintain a respectful, positive, and productive culture in the department.
  • Initiate service calls and documents necessary.
  • Assist and coach the staff technologists in difficult and/or complex procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the department.
  • Help the supervisor in creating, developing, and improving protocols and procedures:
  • Provide input to the supervisor for the evaluations of the technologists.
  • Follow the rules and regulations of Department of Environmental Protection (State) strictly.
  • Attends in-service training as required by the department
    • Able to attend the majority of educational in-services.
  • Apply knowledge of growth and development over the life span.
  • Perform the duties of staff technologist as needed.
  • Rotate within the department on call as required.
