Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add a qualified Per Diem Medical Assistant in Somerville, NJ.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Completion of a formal nurse assistance training program
  • At least six months experience
  • Excellent communication skills, leadership, time management and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

  • Venipuncture/EKG preferred

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Certified Medical Assistant Certification
  • BLS Certification

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift
  • Per Diem Schedule

Essential Functions:

  • Delivers care to patients with empathy and in a caring manner.
  • Interacts well with patients' family members.
  • Proactive in informing appropriate personnel of patient issues and actively obtaining information if not readily available.
  • Performs procedures with ease and understands the patients' needs.
  • Assess patient pain level at each visit.
  • Performs injections with no assistance.
  • Can be relied on for proper labeling of patient s specimens.
  • Can enter and obtain labs /US/ xrays with no assistance.
  • Will stock and clean rooms on a daily basis.
  • Can work independently when asked and get any job done in a timely manner.
  • Accepts role as a preceptor to new employees.
  • Works with others to form a plan of care and good outcome for the patients.
