Mental Health Screener, Emergency Screening

Job Overview:

Provide crisis assessments across the developmental lifespan at the Union County screening center

Qualifications:

Required:

• MSW with a specialization in Mental Health, or MA in Mental Health disciplines
  • One year post-master's experience in a psychiatric setting is required

Or:

• BA in Mental Health disciplines
  • Three years full-time post-bachelor experience, 1 of which is in a crisis setting required
• Clean driver's license as determined by the employer, and validated by the state MVA in which the employee resides

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Certification, eligible as a Screener by the State of New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Hospitals

Scheduling Requirements:

• Per Diem (PD)

Essential Functions:

• Screen adults for involuntary hospitalization
• Develop treatment and disposition planning in the least restrictive setting
• Consult with team members and MDs to ensure safety
• Provide community based screening at affiliated emergency rooms and in community for adults over 18
