Job Overview:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization of radionuclides for the diagnosis and therapy of disease in humans. This individual will participate in and exhibit good Medical Center and Radiology guest relations.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
  • NJ state license
  • ARRT or NMTCB certification
  • BLS through American Heart Association
  • Successful completion of IV training class
  • Successful completion of radiation safety, survey and decontamination orientation/training by RSO
  • Successful completion of site personnel general orientation and department specific orientation

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift
  • Per Diem
  • The schedule will vary based on the needs of the department

Essential Functions:

  • Check, measure and record radiopharmaceuticals prior to administering to patients
  • Performs quality controls on equipment and radiopharmaceuticals
  • Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients intravenously, orally or by inhalation
  • Performs imaging procedures
  • Maintains reliable records under the guidelines of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission
  • Performs other duties as required by the department
