FT Nurse Practitioner, NBI

Job Overview:

The Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a member of the cardiac intensive care team. The primary responsibility is management of critically ill adult cardiac patients in a multidisciplinary, teaching tertiary cardiac care unit (CCU). The APP is under the direct supervision of a cardiologist and/or intensivist. The APP provides direct patient care in the CCU and is expected to perform physical exams, collect and document data, conduct approved diagnostic and invasive therapeutic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribe appropriate interventions and mediations. The APP also practices shoulder to shoulder with Cardiac Fellows and Physician Residents from various specialties. This positions is for rotating shifts, the CCU is covered 24/7 by APP team.

Qualifications:

• Masters preferred nursing from an accredited program with a focus on adult acute care.

• Recommended adult critical care experience

• Experience with procedures and point of care ultrasound is desired

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Organizational ability, management, leadership, and teaching skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required

Certifications:

• Current license as a registered professional nurse in the State of New Jersey with Certification by the New Jersey Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse
• Licensed registered nurse in the State of New Jersey
• CCRN preferred OR Graduate of an AMA accredited physician assistant (PA) program AND licensed by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners
