Job Overview:

The Nutritionist provides optimal nutrition services as an integral part of the healthcare system and within the local community. To strive for continuous

Qualifications:

Required:

• BS or advanced degree with major studies in Foods and Nutrition or Dietetics

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day Shift
• Per Diem (schedule will vary based on the needs of the department)

Essential Functions:

• Confers with physicians, nursing and case management as related to total patient care. Attends patient care conferences
• Demonstrates the ability to identify patient nutrition needs
• Demonstrates the ability to identify what the patient s needs are
• Documents all pertinent information in the patient's medical record in a timely manner according to departmental policy
• Helps plan and implement nutrition projects for the community through services such as speaking engagements and classes
• Instructs patients/families on appropriate diet therapy
• Participates in the interdisciplinary patient teaching process
• Participates in the managerial and administrative functions through self-directed team work
• Performance improvement and data collection for quality indicators as designated
• Provides lectures and education for nursing and medical staff when appropriate
• Reviews medical records, assesses patient needs and implements an appropriate nutritional care plan to provide optimal care
