Job Overview:

The Program Coordinator provides administrative support to the Pharmacy department. Serves as the pharmacy technician, preparing medication, and assisting the Staff Pharmacists and Clinical Pharmacy Specialists. Assists the Pharmacy Department with the essential task of medication distribution when technician-staffing levels do not permit.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

  • Previous retail experience in prior authorizations.
  • Previous hazardous drug training.

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • NJ Board of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Tech License required.
  • CPhT Certified Pharmacy Technician.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full-time, Day

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as the pharmacy technician for the Specialty Pharmacy, Oral Oncolytic Program, preparing medication, and assisting the Staff Pharmacists and Clinical Pharmacy Specialist.
  • As this distribution task includes hazardous and nonhazardous medications, essential training including right-to- know and laboratory training in the event of a spill will be provided and documented and will be refreshed as needed prior to performing these tasks.
  • Assists the Pharmacy Department with the essential task of medication distribution when technician-staffing levels do not permit.

  • Responsible for the maintenance of all faculty files, assuring the office has complete and up-to-date information on all Cancer Institute faculty and prospective candidates.
  • Accurately completes and manages the CINJ internal process for completing the onboarding of Staff Pharmacists, Clinical Pharmacy Specialists, and Oncology Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Escorts Pharmacy department candidates to the Director of Pharmacy and Staff on the day of their interview, ensuring the schedule is maintained or adjusted appropriately.
  • Manages data entry into the faculty candidate tracking system and the recruitment expenditure tracking system and information on the Cancer Institute Faculty Recruitment, Appointment and Affairs Intranet website.
  • Creation and revision of Pharmacy department policies and procedures.
  • Expedites and coordinates services such as maintenance, repairs, office supplies, equipment and mail.
  • Identifies vendors for technical services, furniture, equipment and supplies.
  • Oversees payment for office, travel and meetings.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding candidates and faculty in terms of salary, start-up commitment, etc.
  • Creates and maintains databases, spreadsheets, and monthly RPh schedules and assignments.
  • Pharmacy Technician Specialist: Inventory Specialist vacation coverage.
  • Maintenance and record keeping of chemotherapy, non-chemotherapy, and immunotherapy drugs.
  • Ordering drugs through Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
  • Pharmacy Finance Specialist.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory such as office supplies and pharmacy cleanroom products.
  • Budget keeping of pharmacy department supplies and personnel salary.
  • Arrange for the pharmacy department's monthly triple cleaning and bi-annual clean room certifications and equipment calibrations.
  • Pharmacy Payroll Specialist.
  • Process pharmacy department employees overtime, vacation, and sick time.
  • Maintain and create department work schedule via the When to Work schedule.
  • Process departmental FMLA applications.
  • Develops the CINJ process for completing employee promotion and appraisal paperwork, following procedure in accordance with appropriate guidelines and policies of the Pharmacy department.
  • Ensures all application paperwork for New Jersey Pharmacy Licensing and Oncology Pharmacy Technician Licensing.
