Job Overview:

The Pharmacy Technician assists in the provision of pharmaceutical services under supervision of the Registered Pharmacist by performing the technical, clerical and manipulative tasks involved in dispensing, preparing, and distributing all medications and pharmaceutical products for all patient age groups (includes geriatrics, adult, adolescent, pediatric and neonatal). Candidate will work closely with Pharmacists and department team members. They will be comfortable working in a fast paced pharmacy environment with strong multitasking skills. Work and/or performance shall conform to written established policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • 1 year of Pharmacy experience.
  • Pharmacy Software/Data Entry/MS Office.
  • Successful completion of all orientations.
  • Customer service skills is a must (high volume call center with patient satisfaction in mind.

Preferred:

  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Insurance knowledge and claim adjudication is a plus.
  • Close team environment.

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • New Jersey Pharmacy Technician Registration or obtained within six months of start date as a Pharmacy Technician.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Per Diem, Day

Essential Functions:

  • Our per diem technicians not only fill prescriptions, they answer a large volume of customer service calls, which include:
    • Taking refills, tracking deliveries, answering insurance questions, etc.
  • Make outgoing refill reminder calls.
  • The technician needs to be comfortable speaking to patients and have excellent phone etiquette.
  • Will assist with shipping out medications and charging copays.
  • Our technicians fill hazardous and non-hazardous medications including some non-sterile compounding.
