Job Overview:

The Respiratory Care Practitioner provides therapeutic, supportive, and diagnostic respiratory services and care to all patients.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program
  • Current New Jersey Respiratory Care License
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association
  • Previous clinical & weaning protocol experience
  • Reasonable knowledge of respiratory equipment function
  • Patient assessment skills

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Night Shift
  • Per Diem
  • Schedule varies based on the needs of the department

Essential Functions:

  • Assesses patients' pulmonary status
  • Develops plan of care in collaboration with the physician and nurses
  • Delivers respiratory care to patients
  • Evaluates treatment and orders/confirms appropriateness and initiates treatments of MDI, HFN, CPT, Aerosol treatment
  • Participates in monitoring patient care outcomes as established by targets/goals or Performance Improvement within services
  • Performs other duties as requested
