Senior Vice President, Operations - Southern Region

Job Overview:

The Southern Region Senior Vice President of Operations is responsible for the integration of the Rutgers clinical practices within the RWJBarnabas Health Southern Region and development and integration of the RWJBarnabas Health Southern Region system and regional service lines.

Reports to:

  • The Southern Region Senior Vice President of Operations reports directly to the Executive Vice President, President of the Southern Region.

Qualifications:

  • Master s or advanced degree preferred, bachelor's required
  • At least 10+ years of experience with high-profile Academic branded organization in a leadership role
  • Government relations/public policy experience required
  • Executive leadership experience in hospitals and/or physician practices
  • Senior operational manager able to lead a team, balance priorities and resolve conflicts
  • Demonstrated ability to address complex and sensitive policy and regulatory issues
  • Skilled collaborative leader
  • Skilled crisis manager
  • Political and business acumen
  • Proven ability to influence across organizational boundaries
  • Must possess strong research and analytical skills, as well as excellent written & oral communications skills
  • Ability to deliver information accurately in a fast-paced environment with insight and perspective

Essential Functions:

  • Working with guidance from the Southern Region President and RWJBarnabas Health system leadership, design and implement plan for development of service lines into Southern Region Hospitals and work with hospital, Rutgers, and functional leaders across the health system to integrate the Southern Region service lines and the Rutgers practices
  • Build and maintain necessary relationships and alliances to advance the region s strategy
  • Identify risks and opportunities to the system based on stakeholder expectations and design proactive mitigation and response strategies
  • Lead measurement and evaluation of hospital operational and service line improvement initiatives
  • Work with communications teams to report on results internally and externally
  • Partner with Southern Region Hospital CEOs and senior leadership teams to advance regionalization of programs, services, and best practices
  • Serve as internal consultant for regional and hospital teams to support hospital teams on operational or strategic initiatives
  • Develop regional business plans, report out on system initiatives, and maintain regional reporting on system goal performance
  • Build and maintain relationships with Academic partners and advance the academic mission of the health system
  • Drive the analysis of complex sets of data and business processes to support operational planning in the region
  • Independently analyze solutions to operational or service line opportunities and develop initial hypotheses, frameworks, and methodologies
  • Support all phases of projects and drive project execution and delivery
  • Own the initial preparation of communications for project sponsors and senior stakeholders regarding hypotheses, analyses, and project outcomes for projects and teams you are supporting
