Job Overview:

The Team Leader performs all duties of the Patient Access Representative positions as well as being the lead person for staff on a daily basis and who maintains the most efficient, effective customer-minded procedures.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Patient Access Representative
  • At least one year experience in Registration
  • Must demonstrate the ability to be flexible and work independently, have strong organizational and planning skills, deal tactfully with all contacts and be able to maintain composure during stressful situations.

Preferred:

  • Billing experience with knowledge of health insurance

Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):

  • Certified Patient Access Representative

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Participates in on-call weekend rotation
  • 40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

  • Performs all duties as a Patient Access Representative.
  • Assists in the preparation of internal and State required audits, as needed.
  • Assists the Management Staff in gathering data from various resources for the purpose of educating hospital associates and the community.
  • Monitors the daily files and activities that are being generated from the assigned registration area to assure total compliance and reports any concerns to the Management Staff.
  • Possesses a general knowledge of all billing functions so patients, on an individual basis, can be assisted and advised.
  • Understands and incorporates the compliance steps outlined in the regulations in all daily activities.
  • Works with various departments to coordinate the accuracy and proper handling of paperwork.
  • Adheres to patient rights: provides for the confidential treatment of all communications and records.
