JOB SUMMARY
Trinitas Regional Medical Center s Emergency Department is one of the busiest in the state with more than 73,000 emergency visits annually. Our newly renovated Emergency Room has a total of 45 treatment rooms with separate treatment areas for families, children and seniors.
As a Transporter/Sitter in our Emergency Department, you are an integral part of the patient care team. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the transporter/ sitter sits with patients to provide a safe environment for individuals who need constant observation. The sitter will provide basic care needed for activities of daily living and diversionary activities. In addition, some of the other responsibilities include; responding to call lights, transporting patients, making beds and stretchers, cleaning rooms. Participation in patient related activities, maintaining therapeutic communication with patients including the supervision of patient interaction with family members and provides supportive intervention, as required.
