Job Overview:
The Post Doctoral Fellow will be part of Children Specialized Hospital's Psychology fellowship program which provides a rich variety of experiences for students within the context of the nation’s largest pediatric rehabilitative hospital. The fellow evaluates patients’ psychotherapeutic needs, performs psychological testing and provides psychotherapy for outpatient populations as indicated.
Qualifications:
Required:
- PhD, PsyD or EdD
- New Jersey Psychologist permit holder
- AHA BLS Provider Certification
- Ability to relate therapeutically with the professional team, children, adolescents and their parents or significant other
- Ability to work effectively in a hospital setting
Preferred:
- Related Fellowship and or internship experience
- Experience in cognitive behavioral modification
- Experience working with children and teens on the Autism Spectrum
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- New Jersey Psychologist permit holder
- AHA BLS Provider Certification
Scheduling Requirements:
- Full Time
- 40 hours/week
- Flexibility in work hours
Essential Functions:
- Performs complete psychodiagnostic evaluations as indicated
- Disseminates findings accurately and sensitively, and according to Department policy
- Provides effective individual, family, group psychotherapy as indicated
- Identifies realistic goals for psychotherapy
- Attends program development and case conferences as indicated for patients treated or evaluated
- Provides effective team consultation as needed,
- Displays competency in obtaining and interpreting the parents behavior based upon an understanding of cognitive, biopsychosocial and aging processes
- Displays an understanding of the developmental needs of the patient when planning and implementing treatment
- Meet minimum annual expected volumes
- Flexibility, both in work hours and in performance of duties
