Job Overview:

As an outpatient Clinical Fellow in the Clinical Fellowship Program, the employee will have the opportunity for enhanced learning and skill development. Provides direct patient care services to individuals exhibiting communication and or swallowing disorders. Coordinates services with other healthcare professionals. 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • CF eligible through ASHA
  • Passing score on Praxis exam
  • Temporary NJ State Speech Language Pathology License
  • AHA BLS Provider Certification
  • Physical stamina for lifting and therapeutic handling of patients

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Temporary NJ State Speech Language Pathology License
  • AHA BLS Provider Certification

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full Time
  • 40 hours/week

Essential Functions:

  • Works to advance through the CF program curriculum and trainings with direct mentorship
  • Delivers effective therapeutic services aligned with current evidence-based practices
  • Performs evaluations in the areas of speech, language, feeding, cognition, voice, fluency, and augmentative communication accurately and efficiently
  • Completes basic competencies for the Speech & Hearing Department, as well as hospital-based competencies
  • Meets productivity expectations by seeking out opportunities within the entire department when cancellations, no shows and low census occur
  • Participates in projects that are consistent with department and hospital goals, mission, and vision
  • Provides in-service training to staff and community as requested
  • Completes documentation in a timely manner in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Adheres to clinical and ethical practices aligned with state regulations and American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) practice standards
  • Direct contact with patients, families, nursing, therapists and other healthcare professionals
