Job Overview:
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in the provision of pharmaceutical services by performing essential technical, clerical, and manipulative tasks under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. In this role, you will prepare and distribute medications for all patient age groups including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations while working with advanced medication management technology to ensure safe and effective clinical operations.
Qualifications:
Required:
- NJ Board of Pharmacy registration in good standing
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Proficiency in regulatory requirements and compliance with established hospital policies
Preferred:
- PTCB certification
- Associate or Bachelor's degree
- Previous pharmacy experience

Essential Functions:
- Works with technology related to medication management including automated dispensing cabinets, inventory carousels, repackaging software, and the EMR.
- Assists the Registered Pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications, including training in aseptic technique for preparing IV solutions.
- Promotes patient safety and positive outcomes by ensuring formulary compliance, cost-effective practice, and productive teamwork.
- Identifies and reports hazardous environments, safety issues, or medical errors to appropriate personnel to support optimal patient care and employee safety.
- Maintains proficiency and strictly conforms to all written established hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assists in meeting the hospital's mission and vision by actively contributing to a positive work environment and professional staff relations.
- Responsible for any other assigned tasks or projects based on departmental needs.
