Overview:
Clinical Informatics Site Manager for system Behavioral Health Sites- IP & HODs.
Manages all functions related to Epic and clinical informatics at system sites with 1 direct report; Requires travel to multiple sites across the RWJBH system - inpatient, PESS & HODs.
Requirements:
Required: RN Licensure in NJ.
Education: Graduate degree Preferred
Certifications: Epic Clinical Informatics Certification and Nursing ANCC/ HIMSS certifications preferred
Job Description:
Experience: 3+ years of clinical experience with progressive leadership responsibilities preferred
The Manager of clinical informatics integrates clinical science with multiple information management and analytical sciences to identify, define, manage, and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in clinical practice.
The manager supports nurses, consumers, patients, the interprofessional healthcare team, and other stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
Activities include but are not limited to collaborating with customers and other IT team members to partner to define problems.
The manager collaborates with leadership to design, development, implementation, and evaluation of effective informatics solutions and technologies within the clinical, administrative, educational, and research domains of practice.
In addition, they are responsible for advocacy, identification of issues, and opportunities related to clinical care across the care continuum.
The manager will work with individuals of other professions to maintain a climate of mutual respect and shared values.
They will communicate with patients, families, communities, and professionals in health and other fields in a responsive and responsible manner that supports a team approach to the promotion and maintenance of health.
The Manager of Informatics is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Provide 24/7 operational oversight and management to local team to provide customer support, education, implement clinical changes, coordinate and collaborate with local SME to plan, deliver, and evaluate changes related to the use of technology and date.
- The manager is responsible for ensuring rigorous documentation of problems, design sessions, planning, collaboration and implementation activities of their teams.
- The manger maintains 24/7 accountability for departmental oversight.
- Ensures that all problems have discrete metrics of outcomes to ensure a scientific and rigorous approach to outcomes.
- Maintains a culture within the team and with external collaboration upholding the RWJBH standards of ethics, culturally congruent practice, and communication/ collaboration
- Maintains open communication among clinical user groups to determine issues or problem areas and facilitates resolutions
- Coordinates and provides for communication among users, IT, nursing, and other clinical services.
- Maintains membership on appropriate committees as needed to facilitate the ongoing process of the design, implementation, and revision of automated and manual components of the clinical information systems
- Collaborates with local SME s in Quality and Regulatory under the guidance of leadership to ensure optimal quality of practice by ensuring awareness and competency to new regulations
- Responsible for managing direct report including but not limited to professional development, competencies, rounding and continuing education.
- Applicant is expected to obtain and maintain Epic certification as current in accordance with dept requirements.
