Job Overview:
The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Medical Staff Office. Completes assigned tasks with minimum supervision while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. The Administrative Assistant also serves as the department receptionist.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associates Degree in the medical or business field required
- Minimum of five (5) years of hospital-related experience required
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Certification for Medical Staff Services Professionals (MSSPs) through the National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) required within one (1) year from date of hire
Essential Job Functions:
- Phone Answering -
- Answers phones professionally in a timely manner
- Acts on and directs calls appropriately
- Provides timely information to physician staff, internal and external customers
- Application Requests -
- In conjunction with Centralized Credentialing System provide assistance with Medical Staff application requests
- Follow up as needed for outstanding expirables such as licensure, malpractice, life support and any and all documentation related to credentialing process, i.e. appointment and reappointment processes
- Responsible for yearly mandatory vaccine documentation, distribution and follow up yearly Medical Staff dues
- Physician Activity Reports -
- Responsible for providing on time and accurate physician activity report
- Physician Orientation Program -
- Responsible for activities related to Physician Orientation Program
- Office Supplies -
- Orders office supplies and maintains adequate amount in keeping with department needs
