The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Clean, decontaminate, prepare items for the sterilization process, maintain records as required by regulations and departmental policy, supply JCMC with both sterile and non-sterile products, distribution of equipment such as IV pumps, Flowtron, Gomco, etc., and there stock of Code Carts, Procedure Carts, Urology Carts and Intubations boxes.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous hospital central distribution experience and med/surg supply knowledge required.

Preferred:

• Computer skills desirable.

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Central Service Technician Certification

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full time evening
• Coverage for weekends, holiday, and weekday coverage as needed

Essential Functions:

• Checks for outdated supplies in central service.
• Handles telephone information requests with courtesy, accuracy, and respect for confidentiality. “Stat” requests are handled appropriately.
• Performs processing, reprocessing, sterilization and re-sterilization functions according to established policies and procedures.
•  Performs storage and receiving functions according to established department procedures.
• Perform supply returns according to establisehd procedures.
• Responsible for all documentation for the work area assigned and required by Central Service.
• Retrieval of soiled instruments and equipment are properly cleaned and decontaminated.
