Responsible for the development radiation treatment plans with members of the Rad Onc team producing accurate dose calculations, plans, and dose distributions under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist and Chief Medical Physicist,
Job Overview:
The dosimetrist reports to the Regional Director, with clinical oversight by the Chief physicist. The dosimetrist can work a remote hybrid schedule if 2 or more FTE are employed at one site. Onsite in-person support is required.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences / Medical Dosimetry, or related field
- Graduate of an AMA approved School of Dosimetry or AMA approved School of Radiation Oncology Technology.
- Previous experience with 3D, IMRT, IGRT, SRS, and SBRT treatment planning
Preferred:
- Previous Dosimetry experience prefrred but not required
- Experience with Varian, Elekta, and Accuray machines is preferred. Varian Aria EMR, Velocity, and Eclipse treatment planning system. Vision RT and AlignRT experience preferred.

Essential Functions:
- Ability to accurately delineate organs at risk and develop optimal treatment plans in accordance with the physician’s prescription and constraint form
- Advise radiation team members how beam modifying, or immobilization devices should be used in radiation treatment plans
- Creates contours from CT, PET, MRI and any other fusions related to patient
- Ensures all plans are approved by the Radiation Physicist and Radiation Oncologist prior to patient start
- Localizes tumor volume using CT scans, and simulator films as indicated by the Radiation Oncologist
- Works with the Radiation oncologist, Simulator Therapist and the Physicist as a team approach to treatment planning
- Keeps up to date with treatment planning information by attending seminars and evaluating emerging treatment techniques
