Job Summary:
The Lead Menu Technician will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the Diet Office, including maintaining workflow, daily routines, assignments, and monthly schedules,
In addition, the Lead Menu Technician will assist in ensuring quality control and patient satisfaction are maintained.
Will also assist in maintaining established standards for policies and procedures,
The Lead Menu Technician is responsible for all clerical functions for patient meal service through accurate menu processing and assisting patients with menu selections.
Maintains the Room Service computer system so that patient files are updated with appropriate dietary information according to physician order.
Demonstrates skills necessary to coordinate menu selections for pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.
Process Room Service meal orders in a timely fashion (according to established policies), including patient/family-initiated orders and those patients needing assistance.
Assist patients with telephone callbacks or personal visitation as needed while ensuring adherence to all diet orders.
Initiate telephone callbacks for patients who have not ordered the meal.
The Lead Menu Technician carries out the principles of positive guest relations by demonstrating the ability to solve customer problems and treating all customers with dignity and respect.
Exhibits positive behavior in all circumstances and responds quickly to customer needs,
A good rapport and cooperative working relationship is maintained with all patients, nursing unit staff, visitors, volunteers, co-workers and supervisors,
Job Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Graduate or equivalent required
- Two years of experience in a hospital Food Service Department
- Must have excellent customer service,
- Must exhibit Leadership Qualities
Preferred:
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience working in a healthcare setting,
Scheduling Requirements
- Full Time
- Shift: 6 am - 3 pm, 7 am - 3:30 pm
- Every other weekend/Holiday rotation
