Job Overview

Join the dedicated team at Trinitas Regional Medical Center as an MH Clinician within our Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Outpatient department at the New Point Campus (p. 1). In this vital role, you will help deliver a full array of psychiatric and behavioral health services for youth (ages 2.5 to 17) and their families (p. 1). This position offers a rewarding opportunity to stabilize significantly impaired youth, collaborate with community school/medical support systems, and promote problem-solving and long-term family harmony (p. 1).

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health field (p. 1).
  • Active New Jersey State Licensure as a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) (p. 1).
  • Proven capability to perform age-specific clinical assessments and interpret complex patient data (p. 2).
  • Deep understanding of growth/development milestones and criteria to identify victims of child abuse or neglect (p. 2).

Preferred:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience in a behavioral health or outpatient psychiatric setting (p. 1).
  • Bilingual language skills (English and Spanish preferred).

Scheduling Requirements

  • Full Time – Day Shift

Essential Functions

  • Assess patients' clinical needs through structured interviews, medical chart/history reviews, and standardized clinical instruments (p. 1).
  • Design, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans, including individual, group, and family psychotherapy, documenting outcomes according to department standards (p. 2).
  • Interpret the nature of mental illnesses and prescribed courses of treatment clearly to pediatric patients and their family members (p. 2).
  • Formulate and implement evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions geared toward achieving identified patient goals and family harmony (p. 1).
  • Maintain up-to-date, complete, and accurate records of patient data in strict compliance with healthcare regulatory standards (p. 2).
  • Act as a core member of the multidisciplinary team to assist in reviewing, adjusting, and executing treatment and discharge plans (p. 2).
  • Collaborate actively with outside hospital programs, schools, pediatricians, and community agencies to stabilize placements (pp. 1-2).
  • Obtain appropriate, legally compliant releases of information for all care coordination needs (p. 2).
  • Adhere to Universal S.A.F.E.T.Y. Standards by speaking up for safety, communicating accurately, focusing on tasks using S.T.A.R., and interacting thoughtfully with team members (p. 2).
