Job Qualifications Education Training Certification Licensure
RD or RD eligible Status,
Successful completion of site personnel general orientation and successful completion of department specific orientation,
Job Specific Requirements of Position
Attends annual competency series for clinical staff; provides competency lecture when applicable,
Conducts in-service sessions for hospital personnel where applicable and serves as education preceptor for dietetic interns from CSE, UMDNJ, Sodexo and other students as assigned,
Confers with multidisciplinary healthcare team members to include but not limited to, physicians, nurses and case managers, as related to patient care,
Attends patient care conferences,
Develops, plans and implements nutrition projects for the department and community through in-services such as speaking engagements and classes,
Follows standards of practice for prioritizing care recommendations and implementation of nutrition care plans and complies with regulatory requirements for completion of assessment, and reassessment documentation within assigned timeframes,
Maintains registration status through attendance at seminars and continuing education programs,
Participates in the interdisciplinary patient teaching process by providing appropriate diet and drug and nutrient interaction education to patients and or family members,
Demonstrates the ability to identify the learning methods preference of the patient,
Reviews medical records, assesses patient needs, and initiates appropriate nutritional therapy to provide optimal care, Evaluated based on chart audits and clinical competency evaluations
