Job Overview:
The Monmouth Medical Center/Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Regional Community Health Education Department seeks a full-time Community Health Educator, who will research, design, and facilitate evidence-based health education programs to individuals of all ages in Monmouth and Ocean County on topics including but not limited to: chronic disease prevention and management, access to care, and behavioral health.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor s degree in public health, education, health administration, health education, or related field
- Three or more years of experience working in community health education or a related public health area
- Previous experience working with community stakeholders and community members of diverse backgrounds
- Previous experience researching, designing, and facilitating health education programs to the community
- This position requires some evenings and weekends
Preferred:
- Bi-lingual (Spanish/English)
- Master's in public health, education, health administration, health education, or related field
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)
- Five or more years of experience working in community health education or a related public health area
Scheduling Requirements

- This position is based out of the LiveWell Center in Eatontown, NJ, deploying to community locations in Monmouth and Ocean County as the programming schedule dictates
Essential Functions:
- Develops and presents age and culturally appropriate, data-driven health education programs grounded in research and current best practices in a clear, entertaining, and understandable matter at various sites in the MMC and MMCSC catchment areas
- Ensures that health education programs align with the findings of the most current Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA)
- Tracks program attendance and reports impact to team for data tracking, including surveys to assess changes in health behaviors and knowledge around health topics
- Develops and posts health education reels to Hospital social pages in collaboration with teatment at community-based events during normal business hours as well as on certain evenings and weekends
- Assists with programming for the Better Health program for older adults at both MMC and MMCSC
