Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is searching for a dedicated and skilled Per Diem EKG Technician. In this role, you will conduct EKGs on patients of all age groups, with the exception of pediatric patients, prepare patients for testing, and assist our cardiologists in diagnosing and monitoring cardiac conditions.

Qualifications:
Required:

• High School Diploma
• Certification EKG interpretation
• 1 year experience

 Scheduling Requirements:

• Per Diem, Day Shift

Essential Functions:

• Performs 12-lead EKGs according to departmental policy throughout medical center
• Prepares EKGs for Cardiologist review & performs all necessary editing utilizing hospital system (MUSE).
• Distributes finalized EKGs to referring physician or to in-patient clinical unit.
• Troubleshoot EKGs performed on nursing units to eliminate duplicates & errors.
• Enter charges in the hospital system (SMS)
• Provides translation for Hispanic & Portuguese speaking patients
• Provides a compassionate and supportive environment with prompt and consistent service
• Adheres to patient rights: provides for the confidential treatment of all communications and records.
• Demonstrate professionalism with families, visitors, physicians, co-workers and supervisors.
• Supports teamwork by cooperative problem solving through participation in meetings, projects, etc.
• Organizes work sets priorities with a minimum of supervision and seeks guidance as appropriate
