A typical day for a Phlebotomist may include:
- Collecting blood and other laboratory specimens from both inpatient and outpatient populations using established phlebotomy techniques.
- Accurately identifying, labeling, processing, and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while maintaining specimen integrity.
- Ensuring all specimens are handled according to laboratory standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Providing compassionate, professional patient interactions while helping patients feel comfortable throughout the specimen collection process.
- Verifying patient identification and following established procedures to promote patient safety and accurate testing.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring timely transport of specimens to the laboratory for analysis.
- Collaborating closely with nurses, physicians, laboratory staff, and other members of the healthcare team to support efficient patient care.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following infection prevention practices, safety guidelines, and organizational policies.
- Pursuing continued professional development through training, education, and organizational resources that support long-term career growth.

To be considered for this Phlebotomist opportunity you must:
- Be passionate about delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate specimen collection services that support high-quality patient care.
- You have a high school diploma or GED.
- Successfully completed an accredited phlebotomy training program.
- A minimum of (1) one year of previous phlebotomy experience is required.
- Experience working in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team are essential.
- Must be comfortable working a Per Diem, Day shift from 6am – 2pm.
- Open availability to work every other weekend is preferred.
